David Foster Wallace will make you sleep after this but outside of “default settings”

It was called “Forgiveness machine”. The idea behind was that you wrote done on a piece of paper the person or the thing that you wanted to forgive, or to be forgiven for, and a vacuum sucked that piece of paper in one hand, while at the other it was shredded. This was the way things or people could be forgiven. She said that it was curious to observe how people behaved. At first they found the machine kind of silly, but when they were about to put their message into the machine, they became anxious that it could really work and that the forgiveness, they were looking for but which they weren’t sure they were ready to do, could really become concrete.

At last, she dismantled the machine because she found it overwhelming for people who used it and for herself either. She never was able to use it and this made her realise that she couldn’t forgive him for dying so soon
